Lead product development from concept through production for rugs and home textile categories
Manage and mentor a team of Product Development Associates, providing clear direction, support, and career development
Build and manage detailed development calendars and ensure all internal and external stakeholders are aligned on key milestones
Partner with overseas suppliers to develop innovative yarns, materials, and constructions that meet design and customer needs
Review and approve technical documentation including sample specs, lab dips, testing results, and pre-production trials
Own communication with global vendors, ensuring timelines, costs, and quality standards are met
Conduct factory visits and vendor meetings to ensure development alignment, troubleshoot issues, and maintain strong partnerships
Identify and implement process improvements to streamline workflow and enhance cross-functional collaboration
Partner with compliance and QA teams to ensure all products meet regulatory and internal testing standards
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Product Development, Textiles, or related field
5+ years of experience in product development, with at least 2 years of experience managing direct reports
Proven experience working with overseas vendors and textile manufacturing processes
Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and grow junior talent
Excellent project management and cross-functional communication skills
Strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, high-growth environment
Willingness to travel internationally to vendor locations
Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate global time zones
Preferred:
Experience with factory development with overseas vendors
Deep technical knowledge of textile manufacturing processes (e.g., weaving, tufting, knitting, bonding, finishing)
Familiarity with testing protocols and standards (ASTM, AATCC, ISO, etc.)
Proficiency in PLM systems and project management tool
Compensation:
$130,000 - $155,000 per year base salary
An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role
Employer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company sponsored 401K plan
